Michelle Duggar Hospitalized and her 18 Kids on Television Today -- Michelle Duggar, the American woman who is pregnant with her 19th baby and star of reality show 18 Kids And Counting, has been rushed to an Arkansas hospital.
Duggar is expecting her 19th baby, but it is not due until the spring. The reason for the hospitalization was unrelated to the pregnancy but due to gallbladder issues, stressed a network representative.
“The pain from a gallstone was generating some contractions. Just to be safe, she was airlifted to a Little Rock, Ark., hospital, so that in the unlikely event that she had to be delivered early, she would be close to a NICU center. Though there were some fears that the baby was in trouble initially, it soon was discovered to be solely the gallstone causing the discomfort. Michelle is resting comfortably, and the baby is doing fine,” said the network representative.
18 Kids and Counting (formerly 17 Kids and Counting) is a reality television show produced in the United States by Figure 8 Films about the Duggar family, which consists of parents Jim Bob and Michelle and their 18 children, eight girls and ten boys (including two sets of twins), who all have names starting with the letter “J”. The show’s third season premiered June 30, 2009.
A rep for TLC has issued the following statement:
"This weekend, Michelle Duggar was admitted to an Arkansas hospital due to gallbladder issues. The pain from a gallstone was generating some contractions.

But unfortunately for Michelle, she'll have to stay at the hospital for a while longer.
Adds the rep:
"Doctors want to observe Michelle in the hospital for the next couple of days, but it would appear that the pain medication they have given her for the gallstone has worked, and there is no need for immediate surgery. The hope is that any necessary surgery can be delayed until after she delivers."
